Review the Draft
Austin Housing plans to use federal dollars to continue funding programs and services at the same levels as the previous year. This supports the goals of the 5-year consolidated plan and aligns with the needs we continue to hear from the community. The chart below provides a snapshot of these funding allocations.
The pie chart shows expected resources specifically related to the funding amount. The breakdown below shows the expected households served for each program.
Homeowner Assistance
148 households supported through Home Repair & Rehabilitation.
Homebuyer Assistance
15 households supported through Down Payment Assistance.
Housing Development Assistance
6 units supported through Rental Housing Development and 1 unit supported through Ownership Housing Development.
Homeless Assistance
425 households supported through Homeless Shelter Operations and 50 households supported through Rapid Re-housing.
Special Needs Assistance
687 individuals supported through services for people with HIV/AIDS, 192 through child care services, 125 through senior services, and 159 through mental health services.
Other Community Development Assistance
13,480 households supported through Infrastructure Development, and 2 organizations supported through Community Housing Development.
What is the Action Plan?
Every year, the City of Austin prepares a one-year Action Plan to notify citizens and HUD of that fiscal year's specific goals based on the goals identified in the 5-year Consolidated Plan. The Action Plan details the amount of federal funding allocated to various housing and public service programs and sets goals for how many low to moderate-income people will be served by these programs over the year.
