Montopolis Negro School Vision Plan - Survey

Montopolis Negro School Vision Plan - Survey

Closed to responses

This survey was designed to gather community input to help shape the Historic Montopolis Negro School Vision and Interpretive Plan. Its purpose is to understand what community members value most about the site’s history, how they envision its future as a museum and cultural space, and what themes, programs, and uses should be prioritized.

Participants were invited to share their perspectives on the school’s historical significance, desired interpretive themes, community needs, and ideas for public programming. Feedback from this survey will guide project planners and designers in creating a plan that reflects the experiences and priorities of the Montopolis neighborhood, former students and families, and the broader Austin community.

Survey results will be combined with input from focus groups, public meetings, and stakeholder discussions to build a community‑informed vision for preserving and activating the historic Montopolis Negro School site.
